A tip box you can open with one hand
Your other hand is usually holding a pipette. Our tip boxes open with one press, so you never have to put it down.
Loading a pipette tip should take a second. With many tip boxes it takes two hands: one to hold the box, one to prise the lid open. That means putting your pipette down on the bench, then picking it up again, over and over in a day.
Press, and it opens
MODMAT tip boxes have a front tab. Press it with one finger and the hinged lid flips up. Your other hand keeps holding the pipette, ready to load a tip straight away.
Why it matters
- Faster loading. No juggling between the pipette, the bench and the lid.
- Fewer touches. Less handling of the box and lid means less chance of carrying contamination into the tips.
- Easy to keep closed. Because it opens so easily, it is easy to close the lid between uses, which keeps airborne dust and aerosols away from the tips.
Fun fact
A box of 96 tips is laid out in 8 rows of 12, the same 9 mm spacing as a 96-well plate. That is why an 8- or 12-channel pipette can pick up a full row of tips in one move.
Ready in the box
Boxed MODMAT tips come racked and sterile, 96 tips per box, in 10 µL, 200 µL and 1000 µL, with or without a hydrophobic filter. Bagged tips are available for refills and high-volume routine work.
